🌱Picked, harvested, enjoyed: In future, anyone who eats in the staff restaurant at our branch in Frankfurt will get food from our own garden on their plate 🥗.

This is made possible by a vertical farming model from greenhub solutions GmbH, which is planted by our Frankfurt colleagues. The model enables efficient and sustainable plant growth and cultivation without pesticides. With the farm management app from greenhub, our control technology can be used intelligently. The plants can be automatically watered and illuminated, and scarce resources such as water and fertilizer can be used optimally. In the future, different varieties of sprouted vegetables, basil and pak choi will be grown in the model, harvested and used to prepare meals for the employees and visitors to our branch.

Incidentally, the idea of growing under controlled conditions came from the employees of the branch. The basis for this was an ideas competition as part of the Siemens Future Fund.
